COMMUNITY NEWS-
On September 8th, West Wind Fine Art and L.K. Consulting are
sponsoring The Manchester Invitational Exhibition, featuring new originals by
Richard Schmid, Nancy Guzik, and Timothy R. Thies. A reception will be held
from 3-5pm at the gallery on Route 7A, 3 miles north of Manchester Center. On
September 9th, Richard Schmid will conduct a live painting demonstration of
US Senator James Jeffords from 1 to 3pm at the Arkell Pavilion at the Southern
Vermont Arts Center. Tickets are $30 and seating is very limited. Later that
evening at the Equinox Hotel from 5 to 7pm, original works by 36 nationally
acclaimed artists will be offered for sale. This event is free and open to the
public; a preview will be held from 4 to 5pm. From 7 to 9:30pm, there will be
a formal Patrons Dinner and Auction featuring two original oil paintings by
Richard Schmid and a book of sketches by Bert Silverman. Tickets are $55 and
seating is limited. To promote the ideals of artists and support early childhood
education, partial proceeds from these two events will benefit the Northshire
Day School's Endowment fund in Manchester. For reservations to both events,
call West Wind Fine Art 802.366.8126, or www.WestWindFineArt.com.
