Northshire Bookstore

From historical to hysterical, these books are all about golf. Oakhurst tells the story of AmericaÌs first golf course from its birth in 1884 to its miraculous restoration 110 years later. Paula DiPerna and Vikki Keller weave the lives of the founders through a fascinating history of golf, the evolution of its equipment, and the genesis of course design. On the lighter side, Dan Jenkins virtually invented the golf novel with Dead Solid Perfect. After 30 years, Jenkins returns to the world of big-time golf to find that endorsements and course fashion matter more than the side bet. His hero, Bobby Joe Grooves, is a two-iron-wielding rogue trying to turn his one annual tournament win Û and considerable Texas charm Û into a spot on the Ryder Cup team. Standing between Bobby Joe and his spot in golf heaven are two ex-wives, a girlfriend, several pious PGA officials, and his embarrassing lack of a major tournament win. The Money-Whipped Steer-Job Three-Jack Give-Up Artist is a hilarious portrait of what itÌs really like to play on the PGA Tour.
