From The Editor

WeÌre celebrating MotherÌs Day this month by gracing our cover with a lovely family of three generationsÛand theyÌre all wearing LeviÌs! ItÌs comfortable country living at its best here in Vermont.
The residents of Manchester and neighboring towns have recovered from the snowiest winter in decades. Now most everyone is delighting in working in their gardens, enjoying the daffodils and tulips and the fresh spring-green blooms on the maples, birches, and beech trees.
ThereÌs a lot of news to share with our readers in this issue. First, weÌve changed our name. RETAIL BEAT is almost a year old, and weÌve received wonderful support from our business community, neighboring states, and our dedicated readers. We felt that by incorporating Vermont Style in our name, it further describes our intent and direction. RETAIL BEATÌs Vermont Style is about the way we do things in Vermont. Whether it be shopping, vacationing, or dining, we have our own way of doing things.
Showcasing our retailers is our focus, but equally important we also want to make sure weÌve incorporated all our other wonderful amenities and attributesÛour inns, B&Bs, hotels, motels, and dining establishments. IÌve received many inquiries for lodging information and at the beginning of the year we added this section. Each of our restaurants has its own character, food specialties, and atmosphere and we want to represent them as well.
Our goal is to be Manchester and Southern VermontÌs informational resource. WeÌre the only monthly, full-color publication that gives you up-to-date information regarding retail, lodging, dining, and events in our community. WeÌll keep you informed!
Second, RETAIL BEATÌs Vermont Style now has its own website! You can pick up a copy of our magazine and you can also go to our website www.vermontstylemagazine.com and read each monthÌs issue. If youÌre far from home, traveling for work, or missed picking up the current issue, a quick click will bring us right upÛall without missing a beat. WeÌre now global and are available to our readers around the world!
