Making time to getaway from work and our hectic schedules is always a challenge. With the holiday season upon us, it brings the stress level up a couple of notches in our daily lives. One of the most rewarding comments we receive from people who visit our community is that they really enjoy the warm relaxing hospitality, great shopping, and fun amenities. If you can, a quick getaway would be good for your spirit.

This month we featured the Arlington Inn and The Old Game Store on our cover. The Arlington Inn has an interesting history and wonderful accommodations. Susan Sargent Home store has moved _ mile north on Route 7A. ItÌs located across from Manchester Sports Shop near the junction of Routes 7A & 11/30. The store is very inviting with lots of colors and carries a great selection of home accessories.

Michael Rodriguez Hairdressing Studio hosted "A Day of Beauty" on Monday, October 15th to benefit the Community Food Cupboard, and raised over $1,500. "A Day of Beauty" featured hairdressing by Michael and make-up artistry by Stacy Hunter. Congratulations on a great day!

The Bird Place is testing your knowledge on birdseed. If you can identity the seeds, youÌll receive a special gift. See page 11 for the details.

AngelÌs Grill located in the Village Country Inn is hosting a five-course wine dinner with Rosenblum Vineyards from California on December 12th. It will begin with a reception featuring Vermont craft cheeses followed by an exquisite dinner. For more information and reservations call 802.362.1792.

Many restaurants are hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Finish the year off and let one of our local chefs spoil you with a holiday meal for you and your family.

The Historic Inns of Manchester Village will be hosting their 14th Annual Christmas Inn Tours with hosts wearing period costumes.
